1. Introdução I: Unix

Another example of the same thing is his response to people who
say "I simply don't have time to help others, I have too much
work myself already."
However, when everybody subscribes to this philosophy,
everybody becomes less efficient, and people have even less
time. If, on the other hand, you can take half an hour to
help a co-worker, saving him an hour of work, and that co-
worker can return the favor some day, then everybody wins. In
effect, we don’t have time not to do it. (pp. 80-81)

What are the cultural differences between Unix and Windows
programmers? There are many details and subtleties, but for the
most part it comes down to one thing: Unix culture values code
which is useful to other programmers, while Windows culture
values code which is useful to non-programmers.
